Herbal Oil for Cooking or for a Salad Dressing

Flavoured oils can be quite expensive if you want to buy them. But luckily they are super easy to make yourself at home.

When using herbs in any oil, make sure they are properly dried. You cannot use fresh herbs in oil, because it will go rancid.

Although you can use pretty much any cooking oil, I always use and recommend Extra Virgin Olive Oil because it is not only readily available and not over priced but it has many beneficial health effects.

You can use any herbs that you like in your food, such as basil, bay, chives, cilantro, dill, mint, marjoram, oregano, rosemary, tarragon, and thyme etc. You can also add dried garlic granules.

Take a wide mouth jar and place dried herbs in. Cover with oil and place lid. Place jar in a cool dark place for at least a week. Alternatively, place jar, without lid, in a saucepan with water and turn hotplate to low and let the jar sit in the warm water for about an hour or so. Don’t let the water get too hot, it just needs to be warm so you can turn the hotplate off and let the jar sit. When the oil is ready, strain through some material or a coffee filter, bottle, put lid on and label.

Making healing oils that you can use in salves, balms creams etc for skin application you can make it the same as above using herbs of your choice. Dried comfrey, calendula and lavender are some examples of herbs for this use.

Introducing Kezzeens Kreations

One of my favorite Off Grid things I like to do is to create my own lotions and potions.

I have been playing around with creating natural lotions and potions for about 40 years. We use them to help keep us healthy, and without the need to buy products which contain a lot of nasty unnatural chemicals.

I have been asked many times why don't I sell my products? Well now I do. :)

My daughter, Neen, a beautiful woman, both inside and out, and now a mother of 4 delightful children herself, is now following in my footsteps. Together we are now offering our natural homemade products for other people to share their benefits.

We are not a large company obviously and all our products are made by hand in our own homes and we use only the best ingredients. We create with organic, raw and natural stuff. We do not mass produce and the products may change as to whatever we have available at any given time. You can ask us to make something special for you if you like.

We are also Doterra Wellness Advocates and not only use their oils to help us in our daily lives, but we include them in our products. If you would like to know how to buy your Doterra Essential Oils at wholesale prices, please talk to us.

We welcome you to our new venture and hope that you find something that you would like to try.
