cucumber benefits

Published by admin on 04-Aug-2017 16:10 (1499 reads)

Why should you try to put cucumber in your daily diet?

It is such a great food to eat. It not only tastes great but is so good for your body. I like to add it to my juices and salads all year round.

Cucumbers contain Potassium, iron, silicon, magnesium, phosphorus, vitamin C, vitamin A, and vitamin B complex. The benefits of eating cucumber everyday are antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and anticancer. let your imagination go so that you can think of amazing ways to use it to make combinations of healthy vegetables with cucumber.

Apparently cucumber helps in managing diabetes; helps to prevent constipation; helps lower blood pressure; reduces risk of kidney stones; helps with complexion; protects your brain; reduces risk of cancer; reduces inflammation; reduces effects of stress; keeps you hydrated; flushes out toxins; aids in weight loss; smooths hair and nails; helps reduce cholesterol; fights intestinal worms; helps cure hangovers; strengthens bones; benefits the nervous system, etc.

Have you ever tried cooking cucumber? It isn't as bad as it sounds. Try this recipe...

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Line a 9x13-inch baking dish with aluminum foil.
Spray the foil with olive oil cooking spray.
Spread pieces of butter into the baking sheet and lay cucumber spears over the butter.
Top with slices of sweet onion and scatter basil, parsley, and mint over the top.
Spray the vegetables again with olive oil cooking spray.
Roast cucumber mixture in the preheated oven until cucumber spears begin to soften, about 10 minutes.
Turn the cucumbers and onion slices over and return to oven; roast until cucumbers are tender, 15 to 20 more minutes.

You can not only eat cucumber, but you can use it topically. When used this way, cucumber has a cooling and soothing effect that decreases swelling, irritation, and inflammation. Cucumber slices can be placed on the eyes to decrease morning puffiness or placed on the skin to alleviate and treat sunburn. How about a cucumber mask to make your skin glow.

To make a mask try the following:

2 ΒΌ-inch slices of cucumber
1 tablespoon + 1 teaspoon Greek yogurt
1 teaspoon aloe vera gel
1teaspoon honey
1/2 teaspoon lemon juice

Puree the cucumber in a blender and then add the other ingredients to it.
Then, apply one layer of the mask on damp skin and leave it on for five minutes.
Follow it up with the remaining mask another one or two times for a total of 15-20 minutes.
Once dry, rinse it off with lukewarm water. Follow it up by splashing your face with cold water to close your skin pores.

How about trying a cucumber rinse to help your hair from falling out, to make it shiny and smooth and to strenghen it. Apply cucumber juice to your hair and scalp. Leave it on for an hour and then shampoo.

Cucumber is also good for sexual health and has been called a natural viagra.Take a cucumber and blend it with some water and garlic cloves. The juice is not the most delicious you have ever had but it sure is very effective. Have this twice a day guys, for fifteen days and you will start feeling as if you have put a new engine down there apparently.

If that isn't enough did you know that you can use cucumber as a stain remover and control pests? By using slices of Cucumber to clean with you can remove stubborn stains and tarnish from stainless steel tools, countertops, and walls in the house as well as restore the lost shine. Place slices of cucumbers in containers around the garden to control slugs and pests in the area.

Just a side note. Remember, everything in moderation is a good thing. Excess doesn't always mean better. Just try adding a cucumber to your diet daily or at least every other day. It can't hurt and you will feel all the benefits without going to a lot of trouble.

We made a video from the pulp left after I made a juice. It was made out of beetroot, cucumber, celery, carrot and lemon.

Here is a video I found that has some good information:
